Project Manager - Operations - Hybrid/Harpenden/London

Plowman Craven are one of the largest surveying and specialist measurement and geospatial companies in the UK. We work on huge exclusive projects across the country and our offices are based in Harpenden and London.

An opportunity has arisen for you to join our team of Project Managers. You would be responsible for a range of multi-faceted projects, managing multiple stakeholders. You will develop close working relationships with many stakeholders in all business groups as part of a collaborative working environment.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Engaging client relationships both over the phone, email and F2F upon assignment to a project and maintain continuous stakeholder communication.
  • Manage the project end-to-end with thorough programme management.
  • You will craft detailed project plans, ensuring all areas of the project are covered and realise any potential hazards early on to avoid overspend.
  • You will coordinate with the surveyors and delivery leads appointed to plan and execute the project to a high-quality standard using advanced technologies and methodologies.
  • Construct a resource plan for the project and through this develop a revenue and cost forecast.
  • Manage project budgets, resources, and schedules to ensure efficiency and meet client requirements to ensure clarity throughout.
  • Analysing data along the way to identify areas of risk or issues to the timeline and develop appropriate strategies.
  • Regular looking into the details of the projects to find further efficiencies that will boost revenues for the client and company.
  • You will have regular communication with the clients both via email and face-to-face, stakeholders, and authorities ensuring compliance is met and concerns mitigated.
  • No two projects are identical, you will often deliver compelling presentations and offer technical support, guiding clients through even the most complex monitoring projects.
  • Foster a collaborative environment with your fellow PMs and improve efficiencies where possible.

You must have:

  • Experience managing multiple projects at any one time in a fast-paced environment.
  • A project management qualification, e.g., APM, ILM / PMI / RICS PM etc.
  • Diligent in leading project teams, motivating staff and dealing with issues head-on.
  • A positive, proactive and agile approach to managing stakeholders and associated problem-solving and dispute resolution.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office including Project.
