I had previously worked in a similar role in the retail industry, so when I saw this opportunity at Plowman Craven I thought it was ideal. I had a lot of transferrable skills and have enjoyed my role at the company since day one.

- So, what exactly do you do then?

I'm a Client Delivery Manager in the Operations team. I liaise with our clients and surveyors to get the job done and ensure our reports are delivered on time.
- What does a typical day look like?
-
Well, no two days are the same, which is great! A typical day however would be to check progress of ongoing projects; look at the requirements of new projects that have been instructed to get them underway; and invoice for projects that have been completed. There are a lot of phone calls, meetings and emails throughout the day as well as the admin side of managing projects.
- What do you like most about your job?

I like the variety of projects we undertake and the teamwork involved to pull it all together; knowing you’ve been involved from the start and delivering the final finished report to the client at the end.
- Favourite project so far?
-
There have been too many to choose from! As much as I like the small, quick turnaround projects, I also love the ones that take some planning over multiple locations, from pub portfolios to large new residential developments. I enjoy working on the shopping centre projects, seeing things from a different perspective.
- What’s your proudest achievement?

I can’t choose one in particular but reading about something completing in the news and knowing I had some involvement in it is satisfying.
- Why did you choose this field of work?

- What are the most important attributes for your role?

Being organised, time management, as well as the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with your team and clients over both successes and when things don't quite go according to plan, which sometimes happens.
- Best thing about working for Plowman Craven?

The people. Everyone made me feel so welcome when I first joined, and it quickly felt like I’d been here forever, in a good way! You can approach anyone in the business and they will always have time for you.
- What are you like to work with?

I'm easy-going and always happy to help, no matter what else I’ve got on.
- What advice would you give to somebody wanting to do the same job?

Go for it – get involved, ask lots of questions and get stuck in.
- What are you passionate about?

Outside of work I enjoy reading, walking and horse riding. Here's a picture of me with Patrick in August 2016 in Limpsfield.

Knowing you’ve been involved in a project from the very start and then delivering the final finished report to the client at the end is extremely satisfying.
