UAS Commercial Lead

Ref: VA185 London Office - Southwark Bridge Road Full time Permanent

ROLE OVERVIEW

Plowman Craven is looking for a dynamic Commercial Lead to spearhead the growth of our Inspection Division. This role offers the chance to step into a pivotal position where you’ll shape strategy, drive client engagement, and help define how one of our most innovative divisions develops. If you’re commercially astute, thrive on variety, and want the opportunity to make a real impact from day one, this could be the perfect move.

Our Inspection Division is at the cutting edge of surveying and digital innovation, delivering solutions that range from drone-enabled inspection and LiDAR to confined space mapping, utility surveys, and digital asset management. With projects spanning nuclear, oil & gas, energy, rail, infrastructure, property, and heritage, you’ll have the platform to engage with some of the most exciting and challenging sectors in the industry.

As Commercial Lead, you will act as a commercial ambassador, representing not just Inspection but also Plowman Craven’s broader capabilities in digital construction, monitoring, and asset management. The role is central to how the division engages with clients, develops its commercial approach, and connects with the wider business. It also offers the opportunity to build and lead a commercial team as the division scales, while developing visibility as a trusted industry voice in solutions-led delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and owning the division’s commercial strategy, including pricing, tendering, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities across a range of industries.
  • Providing senior commercial reporting, forecasting, and insight to the leadership team.
  • Leading client relationships, building long-term partnerships, and positioning Plowman Craven as a multi-disciplinary solutions provider.
  • Acting as a key link between the Inspection Division and other areas of the business, driving cross-selling opportunities.
  • Representing the business externally at client meetings, industry conferences, and sector events.
  • Collaborating with marketing to strengthen the division’s profile through thought leadership, case studies, and campaigns.
  • Growing and managing a high-performing commercial team as the division expands.

OUR BUSINESS

Plowman Craven is a recognised leader in Geospatial Technologies, combining innovation with precision to support clients across the entire asset lifecycle. Trusted by the industry's largest developers, property managers, contractors, and engineering firms, we deliver highly accurate data and insights that drive smarter decision-making and improve project efficiency. Our mission is to push the boundaries of possibility, providing market-leading solutions that shape the future of the built environment.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Proven track record in commercial leadership, business development, or client-facing roles within inspection, surveying, engineering, or technical services.
  • Familiarity with digital survey and inspection technologies (drones, photogrammetry, LiDAR, utility surveys, confined space mapping).
  • Strong knowledge of tendering processes, frameworks, and contract negotiation.
  • Highly adaptable and proactive – thrives in fast-moving, evolving divisions.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across varied industries.
  • Ambitious and forward-looking, with the desire to become recognised as an industry expert.
  • Leadership potential: ability to build, develop, and manage a growing commercial team.
