Monitoring Surveyor

Introduction to the role:

We’re looking for a motivated Surveyor to join our Smart Monitoring division, working on a variety of prestigious (I&M) monitoring and engineering projects across London. This is a fantastic opportunity to take real ownership of your work, managing projects independently as well as guiding Junior and Assistant Surveyors. You’ll be at the forefront of data collection, processing and AutoCAD production, delivering high-quality outputs to meet client needs. With experience of working on construction sites, you’ll bring flexibility, efficiency, and strong technical expertise, while also playing a key role in supporting and developing others within the team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and contributing to Smart Monitoring projects, driving improvements and maintaining high-quality deliverables.
  • Briefing colleagues on project requirements, reporting on progress, and supporting effective site operations.
  • Maintaining accurate site and survey records, ensuring robust processes are followed.
  • Setting up and leading new and existing projects, including completing handover documentation.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members to help them progress in their careers.
  • Attending sites to capture data and produce client-ready reports and drawings.
  • Championing Health and Safety standards across all projects.
  • Assisting the Smart Monitoring management team at client progress meetings.

Person Specification:

  • A degree/HND in a survey/civil engineering or equivalent recognized qualification.
  • A minimum or 3-years site survey experience with a proven track record of delivery of monitoring and engineering projects.
  • CSCS, LUCAS, PTS Cards.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Be self-motivated and pro-active.
  • Have the ability to solve problems effectively and in a timely manner out on site.
  • Have a strong understanding of IT applications.
  • Willing to be flexible on work location and working hours.
  • Driving Licence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team working, a proactive attitude and willingness to succeed are essential.
