Senior Project Manager

Ref: VA182 London Office - Southwark Bridge Road Full time Permanent

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER – SMART MONITORING

Lead high-impact monitoring projects. Shape the future of our delivery. Grow with an industry leader.

We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Project Manager to join our Smart Monitoring team; someone who thrives in complexity, inspires confidence in clients, and can elevate how we deliver manual and automated monitoring across major construction and infrastructure schemes.

If you have deep experience in structural/environmental/automated monitoring and want to step into a role with real influence, visibility, and strategic impact… this is your next opportunity.

At Plowman Craven, we’re recognised for delivering precision geospatial and monitoring solutions across some of the UK's most demanding and iconic projects. As we scale our Monitoring division, we’re seeking a Senior PM who can bring leadership, commercial sharpness, and technical credibility — helping us set new benchmarks for quality, efficiency, and client excellence.

What You’ll Take Ownership Of

Lead client engagement with authority
You’ll be the face of the project — building trust, managing expectations, presenting complex data with clarity, and steering client conversations with confidence.

Shape and manage full project delivery
From sales handover to final reporting, you will drive delivery of multiple monitoring projects, ensuring programs, budgets, and standards are always on track.

Build and lead a high-performing PM team
You will line-manage Project Managers, mentor them, and set the tone for professional development, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Bring strategic thinking to planning & risk management
You’ll develop robust programme plans, forecast accurately, and anticipate risks before they become issues — applying your monitoring expertise to guide technical decisions.

Strengthen commercial performance
From managing budgets to identifying efficiencies and growth opportunities, you’ll play a key role in boosting revenue and improving project profitability.

Champion technical excellence
You’ll stay close to advancements in surveying, automated instrumentation, data strategy, and monitoring methodologies — ensuring our solutions remain cutting-edge.

Drive quality, compliance, and safety
You’ll uphold rigorous standards across delivery, documentation, data handling, and H&S — ensuring projects are audit-ready and client-ready at all times.

What You’ll Bring

You’ll be a standout candidate if you have:

  • A strong track record leading monitoring projects (structural, geotechnical, environmental or automated systems)
  • The confidence to run high-stakes client conversations and present technical findings clearly
  • Experience managing project teams and driving performance
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen, forecasting, cost management, and identifying growth opportunities
  • Deep understanding of survey/monitoring methodologies, instrumentation, and data workflows
  • Experience with NEC contracts, construction environments, and ideally rail (NR/LUL/DLR)
  • The drive, urgency, and professionalism of a leader who takes ownership and delivers

Why This Role Stands Out

This isn’t just project management — it’s a leadership role at the heart of one of the UK’s most respected monitoring teams. You’ll have:

  • Real influence in how the PM function evolves
  • A voice at senior level, shaping team capability and delivery excellence
  • Exposure to major high-profile schemes across London and beyond
  • The chance to push innovation, working with industry-leading monitoring technologies
  • A clear route for further leadership progression

If you want to step into a role where your expertise genuinely matters — and you’re ready to help lead the next chapter of our Smart Monitoring growth, we’d love to speak with you.
