Surveyor, Utilities

This role is based in Harpenden.

Introduction

Our Utilities work for 2017 has been in the region of £1.2 Million, and we are anticipating further growth in this area. We now have opportunities to join this growing team, for all levels of Utilities Surveyor, from juniors to Seniors, based on experience. You will work on a range of projects in diverse locations, from the urban environment, rail to schools, roads, airports using the latest technologies on the underground utility services sector.

In this role, you will be taking responsibility for leading and delivering smaller projects or aspects of larger projects independently or in conjunction with fellow surveyors.

Role Specification

To lead all projects (depending on experience) to meet the required Company standards, such as quality and health and safety.

Working in conjunction with the Project Manager, Senior or Principal Surveyor, to advise on the most appropriate technology and the most efficient way to deliver projects.

To take responsibility for data collection operations on site and data processing using the most appropriate technology and methodology to meet the project specification, liaising with fellow Surveyors as appropriate.

In conjunction with the Project Manager to pro-actively report on project progress, and ensure that projects meet the required deadlines and project costs remain within budget.

To liaise with clients as required on site concerning project specifications and deliverables.

To coach and instruct staff on all aspects of data collection and data processing, encouraging all aspects of “best practice”.

To undertake all other reasonable tasks as requested.

Person Specification

Suitable applicants will ideally have at least 2 years’ experience in Utilities Surveying/tracing of underground services with the ability to running own project.

The ideal candidate will have experience of using electromagnetic tracing and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) equipment.

Excellent interpersonal skills, team working, a proactive attitude and willingness to learn are essential to this role.
