This role is based in Harpenden.

Introduction

To develop and lead the implementation of the business strategy for the Infrastructure Group and ensure ongoing P&L performance against agreed targets. Through effective leadership, enhance the commercial capability within the Utilities and Rail Business Groups. A primary focus on generating sales via strong business development and account management skills.

Role Specification

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead strategic plans to drive growth and profitability aligned with overall Company goals
  • Identify and develop market opportunities through high-level client engagement to extend PCL opportunity across the Infrastructure market
  • Develop new opportunities and enquires within infrastructure owner organisations e.g. UKPN, National Grid, Southern Water etc.
  • Develop target clients into key accounts providing a pipeline of work
  • Mentor and coach managers embedding and developing solid commercial skills
  • To undertake all other reasonable tasks as requested.

Key Accountabilities

Key Competencies and Experience

  • Developing strategic business plans and delivering growth
  • Business development experience in a consultancy context
  • Proven exceptional customer service approach
  • Experience delivering a P&L within the Infrastructure / Utilities Sectors
  • Demonstrable experience working alongside Senior Management and board level directors

Person Specification

Skills and Behaviours

  • Ability to influence senior clients and develop new business
  • Proven leadership skills evidence of managing a team of 5-10 people minimum
  • Ability to manage a P&L of £3m+
  • Consultancy skills and sales experience in the Utilities market with some Rail experience preferred
  • Ability to mentor and develop potential future leaders
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
