
Technical Sales Executive
Primary Purpose
As a Technical Sales Associate, you shall join our Sales and Marketing team providing expert advice to our key clients and preparing proposals for new projects. Working across our Property Development and Infrastructure teams you will be responsible for estimating tasks and the provision of quotations for Topographic Surveys, Rail Surveys, Measured Building Surveys and 3D Laser Scanning.
This role may suit an experienced senior/surveyor looking to move into a sales or commercial role, with support and guidance provided by Technical Consultants.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on most appropriate ways to undertake projects
- Review and understand project specifications and client requirements
- Prepare time and cost estimates for survey activities
- Writing quotations and technical proposal documents
- Updating of opportunity and customer data using CRM
- Follows up with customers to check on suitability of quotations
- Liaises with senior colleagues and specialist consultants where required
- Pro-actively deals with customers enquiries
- Provides any necessary data or reports to the Director
- Provide detailed handover/briefing to operational delivery teams
- To undertake all other reasonable tasks as requested
Person Specification
Skills and Qualifications:
- Approximately 5 years’ surveying experience, working in land or engineering surveying environments
- A good grounding in core/traditional survey techniques
- Strong technical understanding of modern surveying techniques
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
Desirable:
- Qualification relevant to Surveying and/or Civil Engineering
- Membership of (or working towards) of relevant professional body
- Working knowledge of RICS and Network Rail surveying standards
- Experience working in the Rail environment
- Experience of working in Underground Utilities Survey
- Knowledge of Revit or other BIM Programmes
