Front of House Receptionist

Primary Purpose

Plowman Craven are currently seeking an experienced Front of House Receptionist to join our Business Support team to manage our reception area.

As the company’s first point of contact the successful candidate should possess a professional and efficient approach to their work, building and maintaining relationships with all internal and external customers.

The focus of the role is to manage incoming calls, welcome visitors and oversee some facilities management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all telephone enquiries received by main reception courteously and efficiently, establishing the nature of the calls and redirecting them within the business appropriately.
  • Provide a warm welcome to all visitors, issuing visitor badges and organising refreshments and lunches when applicable.
  • Manage daily postal tasks, including franking outgoing post, distributing incoming post and organising couriers when required.
  • Ensuring the reception area has a professional appearance at all times.
  • Oversee and maintain office stationary supplies.
  • Working with our suppliers to manage the office cleaning contract and general office facilities I.E. general repairs, annual services etc.
  • Manage general fleet administration and maintenance bookings of approx. 8 vans.
  • Support our Health and Safety Manager by undertaking Fire Warden duties for the office.
  • Undertake all other reasonable tasks as requested.

Person Specification

  • Experience working within an office environment and front of house.
  • Can provide creative ideas and initiatives to improve reception and the role.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility where necessary.
  • Organised, methodical and has a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with a good telephone manner.
  • Motivated and has a can-do attitude.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Computer literate, with keyboard skills and experience of Microsoft Office.
