The availability of accurate geometric data at the planning and design stage will provide the platform for the project's success going forward. The latest laser scanning instruments, which collect millions of measurements in three dimensions called point clouds, provide an immediate cost efficient method of collecting information rapidly.
Combining scan data with 360° high dynamic range photography enables stakeholders to access this 'raw' data in near real time. TruView™, a web based portal, enables the user to be part of a visual tour of the scanned site. Its real time measurement tools allow each user to pan, zoom, measure and investigate the area from the comfort of a workstation. New designs can be incorporated at this stage to enable a visual analysis. The benefits for each stakeholder are endless.
