: National Elite Circuit Series - Brentwood |
The National circuit
series moved to Brentwood where the ‘BLUE TRAIN’ were
very much to the fore, the whole race.
After Tony was involved in the main break of
the race it was the turn of Freddie to have a dig as he joined Jamie
Newell
(EVANS RT) in what looked like a strong combination out in front.
Newell however, decided he didn’t have the legs for it and
our young
Swede pushed on alone, to the shouts of his growing number of fans
around the circuit.
As the bell sounded Freddie was still out in
front although his quote afterwards on the British Cycling website
told the tale.
“My heart rate was up to 205 and it is a long time since I
have seen that. Those last two laps I was like 'beep, beep - beep,
beep,
in the red zone!"
With Rob Hayles (Team KLR) and Mariusz
Wiesiak (NIPPO) in full flight he was caught with 50 metres to go,
James Taylor made the podium
in third with Malcolm fourth and the exhausted Freddie in fifth.
